Classical Piano Lessons in Ashburn, VA - Piano Lessons in Ashburn, Leesburg, Sterling, Reston,Great Falls
Piano Lessons Ashburn, Leesburg, Lansdowne, VA

Piano Teacher Ashburn, Leesburg, Lansdowne, VA

Piano students in my studio will  learn to play with confidence and speed.  Love's Music Lessons will provide piano lessons that focus on technique (scales, arpeggios and etudes), posture, hand and wrist position and sound.  It is crucial  for the younger student taking beginner piano lessons to adopt appropriate posture, avoid locking the wrists, maintain a relaxed hand position and learn how to rotate the wrists.  Poor technique can cause hand and wrist injuries later in life.  It is important to find a piano teacher who will focus on these crucial aspects of piano performance at the start.

Practice Makes Perfect!!!  Piano students will be expected to practice on a daily basis.  Beginning piano students will be required to practice a minimum of 30 minutes per day.  Intermediate and advanced piano students will be expected to practice a minimum of 45 minutes to one hour per day.  Piano lessons will enable music students to master not only the craft of piano playing, but discipline themselves to memorize several pieces and perform in front of an audience.  Individual private lessons are offered in Love's Music Studio.

**Please note, I offer a trial lesson and interview prior to the start of lessons.  There is a $40 charge in Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg or Great Falls, VA for a 30-minute trial lesson and interview and a $45 charge for a 45-minute trial lesson in Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg or Great Falls.  I am providing my time, expertise and an assessment of you or your child's skill level. I do not give free trial lessons because I have a busy studio of nearly sixty students and do not have the time to offer free lessons.  Additionally, I am traveling to your home and must account for travel time, teaching expertise and gas expenses.

Classically trained musicians like myself can provide the necessary tools to branch off into other genres of music.  There are several famous musicians, like Billy Joel, Elton John and Keith Jarrett who were classically trained.

View clips of my current students. These videos show the result of taking consistent piano lessons with a qualified and gifted piano teacher who emphasizes technique, pedaling, phrasing and musicality.  These videos will motivate you or your children to take piano lessons from Love's Music Lessons.

My aim is to provide piano lessons that teach students how to read music and develop excellent eye, hand and finger coordination. Emphasis will be placed on reading notes in the bass and treble clefs, understanding musical notations, learning compound rhythms, practicing major and all three forms of minor scales (up to four octaves), learning the corresponding chord progressions in all keys, practicing arpeggios and broken chords, practicing sight-reading and learning classical repertoire which develops the techniques to play any genre of music beautifully.  Realize that there are no shortcuts to learning how to play piano.  Ultimately, it takes patience, practice and consistent performance!  Memorize and learn the three P's to successful piano lessons.!! Additionally, as outlined in my studio policy, a weighted 88-key digital piano with three pedals or an acoustic piano is required for piano lessons. I do not teach students on keyboards.

Additionally, I have intermediate and advanced students learn how to transpose; this is an advantageous skill for any music student who desires to become an accompanist or improve their sight-reading skills.  My ultimate goal is to get you to a point where you can sight-read any type of music on your own-without the help of a music teacher.

A portion of the music lesson will also be devoted to ear training and music theory.  Strong aural skills enhance musicianship and the piano student begins to hear and view intervallic relationships in music.  Music theory provides an understanding of cadences, chords and chord progressions, which appear in both popular, jazz and classical music.  With music theory training, the piano student understands  how the music is organized rather than just simply reading isolated notes on a page of music.

Method books will be used for beginner piano lessons during the first three months of piano lessons in  Ashburn, Leesburg, Lansdowne, Sterling, and Great Falls, VA, and kids piano lessons in  Ashburn, Leesburg, Lansdowne, Sterling, and Great Falls, VA.    Gradually, original classical music will be introduced along with the method books.  Jazz, Blues, Folk and popular music will be assigned for the student who wishes to explore other genres of music.

Advanced students or students who have at least one year of playing experience are encouraged to take a 45-minute lesson to reach their maximum potential.

All students will be required to participate in one recital during the year.  One studio recitals will be held during the year as well as additional festivals, competitions, and scholarships available through my membership in MTNA, VMTA, NVMTA, FLMF and NFMC.
