Love's Music Lessons, LLC is a member of Music Teachers National Association, Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association, Virginia Music Teachers Association, Fairfax-Loudoun Music Fellowship, National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT) and additionally supports and prepares students for the exams given by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.  These organizations foster a creative musical environment, offer competitive and noncompetitive performances and encourage an appreciation for music that will last a lifetime.   The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) offers quarterly exams in technique (scales, broken chords and arpeggios), music performance, aural training, music theory and sight-reading.  The music standards offered through ABRSM are recognized at the university level.
Piano and flute students enrolled in Love's Music Lessons, LLC have the opportunity to participate in numerous performance venues.  Recitals and exams given by ABRSM provide an opportunity to perform in front of an adjudicator and encourage piano and or flute students to strive for musical excellence.  It is important to set goals for music students so they don't lose interest in their instrument.
The National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT) provides an opportunity for piano students to memorize and perform 10 pieces in front of an adjudicator.  There are a number of musicianship phases in which students are required to play scales, arpeggios, transpose, sight-read and improvise.  Students receive a certificate and report card at the end of the exam showing that they have passed their exam and achieved "National" piano performance status. Ms. Love currently serves on the Guild's Board of Jjudges.
Ms. Love is also one of the few Loudoun County and Ashburn traveling piano teachers, Ashburn piano teachers and Northern Virginia flute teachers who can provide piano lessons and flute instructon for students desiring to audition for a music minor or music major degree at an accredited university.
Ms. Love was born and raised in Pasadena, California, home of the famous Tournament of Roses Parade.  She began piano lessons at the age of 8 and continued through the end of her freshman year of high school.  Ms. Love began flute lessons at the age of nine and continued through high school and college.  She graduated with a BA degree in flute performance from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1994.
Ms. Love later decided to become proficient and versatile on two instruments.  Ms. Love pursued private piano lessons with Dr. Paul Pitman in Encino, California from 1996 to 2002.
Ms. Love relocated from Los Angeles, California to Hampton, Virginia in 2002 and continued private piano lessons with Mrs. Teresa Campos-Falk.  Mrs. Falk introduced Ms. Love to piano teaching and later referred several piano students to her.  Mrs. Campos-Falk is a highly sought after teacher in Yorktown, Virginia who graduated from Julliard and has had a national competition winner through MTNA.  Ms. Love soon began teaching privately from her apartment in Hampton, Virginia and traveling to students in the Hampton Roads area.  She was hired as a flute instructor in November 2002 and later hired as a piano teacher at Music and Arts in Yorktown, Virginia in 2004.
In 2006, Ms. Love relocated to Northern Virginia to pursue a Master's degree in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at George Mason University, one of the few accredited universities in Virginia which offers a Masters of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy (Teaching).  She continued to provide piano lessons and flute lessons in the home to students in Northern Virginia while she was pursuing her Master's degree.  Ms. Love completed coursework in music theory, music history, aural (ear) training, vocal accompaniment, instrumental accompaniment, piano performance, piano pedagogy (study of piano teaching methods), two independent pedagogy projects; one on teaching piano to the younger beginner and the other on teaching piano to the special needs student, flute performance and chamber music during her four years of study at George Mason University.  She graduated with an MM in Piano Performance and Pedagogy in January 2011 and successfully launched her independent traveling music teaching business in May 2011. Ms. Love currently travels to students located in all areas of Ashburn, including Ashburn Village (20147), Ashburn Farm, Broadlands, Brambleton (20148), Loudoun Valley, Loudoun Valley Estates, Evergreen Mills, Evergreen Preserve, and Evergreen Reserve. Ms. Love also travels to the Lansdowne (Leesburg, VA) area.

Although there are many competitors, Ms. Love's vision, dream and educational background are unparalleled.  She recently performed at the Kennedy Center's Millenium Stage on August 2, 2013.  Very few Ashburn traveling piano teachers and Ashburn flute teachers have an extensive teaching background, have a BA and MM from an accredited university, and are adept at teaching the younger beginner on two completely different instruments.  Ms. Love uses a variety of method books geared towards the younger beginner, which focus on learning to read music in bass and treble clef.  Ms. Love has devised innovative ways to engage the younger beginner.  While Ms. Love's piano lessons are enjoyable, they allow the younger beginner to learn more about music and become proficient at playing the piano.
